About Glasgow Tutors
Glasgow Tutors was established in 2002
Glasgow Tutors is Scotland's fastest-growing tutorial company, and the parent company of Tutors in Aberdeen, Glasgow Tutors and Stirling Tutors. It was formed in 2002 by Carolyn Bell (a graduate and postgraduate of Cambridge and Aberdeen University), with the aim of providing the highest quality personal tuition to Scottish schoolchildren.
We are the only company of our calibre to focus on the demands of the Scottish syllabus.
Our philosophy and guiding principles
What makes Edinburgh Tutors very different from other tuition-providers is the care we take of our pupils:
Our first step is to discuss carefully with you, your child and your tutor, the areas in which you need most help, and we will continue to support both you and your tutor for as long as your child will receive support from us.
We are also different in that all of our tutors are interviewed and tested for their ability to tutor one-to-one.
We select the most talented and personable graduates and undergraduate to become our Glasgow Tutors.
We engage undergraduates as our main body of tutors. It is our belief, but more importantly our experience over 15 years, that carefully selected undergraduates have:
- An immediate, up close and personal, experience of the exam subjects they are now tutoring.
- A-grades in the subjects they tutor at university level. Our Tutors are not generalists but academic specialists, looking forward to top-flight careers when they graduate from first class universities.
- Perfect empathy with those they support and an understanding of the pressures and issues they face.
That's not to say we do not use other types of tutor. Very successfully we engage also Teachers and Post-graduate academics. We believe in matching Tutors to "tutees" so we choose the Tutor to ensure the optimum outcome.
The principal contacts are:
